Shocking Spider

Grotesque, malicious, hairy creatures. They leer at you, venom easing in the niche of their mouths, sending ice cold chills crawling down your spine. Their dexterous spinnerets knit edifices of destruction in the corners of your rooms, which cling in dutiful patience for its prey to fall victim to the macabre paws of its demiurge…

Or as wikipedia prefers to describe it, “Spiders (order Araneae) are air-breathing chelicerate arthropods that have body segments fused into two tagmata, the cephalothorax and abdomen,  joined by a small, cylindrical pedicel, as well as eight legs.

… Yeah. That was… real helpful wikipedia. Thanks. ( to those of you who only understood that last part… I commend you for your normality )

A Simple Column On Addiction. Then The Good Stuff!

genderThat’s it. I’m going cold turkey on nail polish. It’s bad for your nails to use it too much, it’s hard to make them look good for a long length of time, and they’ll save me on cash. Within seconds of typing this, I began applying a base coat and getting all my colours out to consider which one to do for today. It’s an addiction, what can I say? Not one like smoking, or anything, but one of those addictions that – honestly – are kind of stupid to try and give up. I mean, the nail polish also looks presentable, prevents me from biting my nails and gets attention when I change colour. It’s a balancing act.

I actually have a few addictions like these. Let me explain:

  • High Heels: You can go on all you want about the bad things it could do to my feet, or the impracticably, but I’m buying them. They are like works of art to me, they make my legs look longer, and it can make an entire outfit. As for the pain, well my feet haven’t been aware of blisters until the shoe comes off since 2004/5. No big deal…

Google Wave: a rough start…for me

Google Wave is currently in limited preview, as a new platform for communication and collaboration. It can perhaps be thought of as what e-mail should have evolved to by now. But before the technological uninterested ones are deterred away from this article, read my prediction on Google Wave:

Boardgames Cafe

Went to the Boardgames Cafe today with 12 of us. The place is in an upstairs room in a building behind the Mongkok police station.

For those of you who haven’t been, the room itself is rectangular with an exposed layout. On one side there’s an open kitchen and a small staff’s area; on the other, tables, chairs, and sofa corners are neatly positioned. A tall shelf brimming with boardgames separates the two.

The den radiates a homely feeling. The furniture is warmly wooden, the kitchen waiting for our visit, the staff in casual street attire. It was as if we’d been invited over for a housewarming. We quickly leaked into the main space, occupying the central tables and selecting several games in the process. Lovely.

Menus were passed around, comfort drinks were the “thing” and several home-craftable snacks were also offered. Prices were in their 20′s and 30′s but we learnt that the cover charge of HK$45 pp / first hour + HK$5 / every extra 30 minutes entailed a free drink under HK$30. The beverages all turned up in large cavernous glasses; exactly the portion a homemade comfort drink would have been greedily made at.

We left on high spirits. Or at least I’d like to think. The bill ended up being ~HK$55 each but the cafe had made it well worth it. There’s also a great dim-sum restaurant down the road but I forgot about that until I passed by on the taxi home bound.

Let’s go again, soon :D

bleuuuuuuurgh

I really should write a proper post, but I’m feeling sick and tired from my cervical cancer vaccine so I can’t. So here are some videos that I find very amusing for you to enjoy. Tralala.

On a side note, La Tale is a very awesome game. Yes it is. It’s like Maplestory, except cuter and OGPlanet isn’t as money-hungry as Nexon. You should go download it and play right now. Mhm.

Lil is probably gonna get on my arse about this post. OHWERLZ.

ATM cards will become demagnatised if you put them with your Octopus.

I get the feeling this will become the longest blog I have ever written for this site. And this is all done last minute at 8:43PM.

A couple of days ago, I spent the last of my pocket money on Mogu Mogu Lychee Drink w/ Nata De Coco. I have provided a picture so I don’t have to describe it in exact detail- the fluorescent pink speaks for itself after all. I know you’re thinking it looks very processed and artificial. But don’t make any judgments before you try it, it is brilliant.

Still Sick

AAAH IT BURNSIf anyone’s missed me at school recently – in classes, around the common room, or, most likely, when they were handing out 40th anniversary cupcakes – you’ll notice that I’ve been ill for the past seven days or so.

What have I been up to? Well, to be honest, not very much. ‘Sitting around, being sick’ is one of those things. But that’s not all (ooh, doesn’t that sound exciting now). Here’s a ‘live’ blog post, albeit not logging details of today’s day off to clue you in – rather, Monday’s, because I thought I’d be able to get to school today. So, if you like, this shall be my Twitter for the day.

Please keep in mind that there are three intervals within the day where I am on fever and pain meds, thus being even more moronic than usual.
